UPCOMING
Recap: Our 4th Annual Food Festival
Thank you, community, for joining us at our fourth annual Juneteenth Food Festival.
It was a magical day of uplifting Black food and culture in the sacred space of Weeksville that keeps us rooted to our history. We ate, we danced, we laughed and we communed in a way that only we can. Thank you for showing up, showing out, and supporting Brooklyn’s Black owned businesses.
Extending a huge thank you our partner Black-Owned Brooklyn and to all the Black businesses, artists and performers who lent their talents to the festival.

2026 Spring Benefit
Weeksville Heritage Center presents our 4th Annual Spring Benefit on May 7, 2026, themed Preserving Home: Past, Present, and Future.
Join us for an inspiring evening honoring Brent Leggs, George Wells, and L’Enchanteur, while supporting preservation, education, and the future of this historic Brooklyn site.
Black & Free: Pleasure Histories
On June 4, Black & Free: Pleasure Histories comes to Weeksville Heritage Center for an evening of film and live performance honoring Black queer and trans legacies of pleasure that are too often excluded from dominant narratives.

Martha Redbone: Freedom is in the Songs
Join us on May 15 from 6-9 PM for Martha Redbone: Freedom is in the Songs.
For her Spring concert performance at Weeksville Heritage Center, musician and storyteller Martha Redbone and her ensemble invite the audience to sing along while they perform music spanning the Black American music diaspora, weaving in her own American story through music that celebrates Black and Indigenous shared histories.
